What is CRC1?

CRC1 is a collective of security minded IT professionals of varying skill sets who combine resources to improve ourselves and help each other on a variety of different projects.

How is CRC1 funded?

We have no funding and are not seeking any contributions. The resources we use are payed for out of pocket.

Does CRC1 offer web hosting services?

Generally no; hosting could potentially draw certain liabilities or unwelcome attention. The purpose of CRC1 is to be a research origination and hosting would distract us from our aim.

Can I get a CRC1 hosted email address or MX pointer?

Absolutely not! For one, our mail servers are unreliable because we are constantly experimenting with them. Second as a matter of policy we don't store anyones personal information on any of our systems. Lastly any services we would even consider providing we would seek to provide it securely and anonymously; email is neither of those things.

What projects are you all currently working on?

Most of us have Unix backgrounds and are currently doing enterprise networking or load-balancing depending on who you speak to. We have been doing a lot of work with IPv6 and developing different deployment/security strategies for both residential and/or in the data center. IPv6 is the primary reason for DNS hostnames to make it easy to identify and access systems across different networks.
